We debuted at the Brasil Design Award with two bronze medals!

We have been working with brands since 2008. We’ve gone through many projects, many lessons, and many joys. But until now, we had never participated in awards in our field. In 2021, we decided to open ourselves to this experience and started right away with the biggest design award in the country: the Brasil Design Award.

“Since 2009, ABEDESIGN has been organizing the BRASIL DESIGN AWARD with the goal of recognizing and highlighting the creative and innovative capacity of design in the national economy.”

ABEDESIGN – Brazilian Association of Design Companies

What is the Brasil Design Award?

The BDA, as it’s known among design professionals, has been promoted since 2009 by ABEDESIGN (Brazilian Association of Design Companies). The award recognizes projects that stand out for creativity, quality, and impact in categories such as branding, packaging, illustration, digital design, and many others. Each edition proposes a new theme for reflection. In 2021, the question was: “What flag do you carry?”, an invitation to think about the values and purposes that move brands and how design expresses all that to the world.

“What flag do you carry?” was the theme of the award in 2021. A powerful question that inspires the creative sector to reflect on the values guiding our brands and projects.

We made it to the shortlist!

After analyzing the categories and participation criteria, we selected three projects that marked our journey with great meaning and put our heart into the submissions. The expectation was high, but we knew that just making it to the finalists’ list, the so-called shortlist, would be a huge achievement. And that’s exactly what happened: all the projects we entered made it to the shortlist! There were more than 1,600 projects submitted by companies across the country, and only 30% made it to this stage. Being on this list, alongside studios we admire so much, already filled us with pride and joy.

Coletivo Revoança

A brand created for a collective that believes in the power of transformation through education and women’s protagonism. Revoança is a poetic word in Portuguese that evokes the image of birds flying together. The project was a finalist in the Brand Design category for small and medium enterprises.

Super Vegan

A delicious project (literally!). The brand features a league of superpowered animals who protect nature and celebrate veganism with lightness and fun. The illustration of the little fox and friends made the shortlist in the Craft for Design (Illustration) category. The chocolate packaging was also a finalist in the Packaging Design category.

Almadoré

An artisanal chocolate made with Brazilian cacao and special ingredients. We created packaging that reveals tiny worlds of affection and flavor. It also made the shortlist in the Packaging Design category.

Bronze medals in the packaging category

On December 7, we watched the live award ceremony with our hearts racing. When the Packaging Design category was announced, it was a moment of euphoria here: the packaging for Almadoré and Super Vegan won bronze medals!

One announcement after another, and we cheered, jumped, and celebrated as if we were really on the podium. Seeing our work recognized by a prestigious jury, composed of great names in Brazilian design, was truly emotional. These two awarded brands are different, but they share something important: they were born from real stories and immense care in every detail. Seeing this being valued in a national award was a joy hard to describe.

A memorable experience

Participating in the Brasil Design Award was much more than competing for medals. It was a chance to look at our projects with fresh eyes, revisit cherished stories, and celebrate every step taken with clients who trust our work. It was also a way to say, proudly: yes, small brands can move hearts, win love, and even win medals. Because when design is made with truth, it moves and becomes memorable. Our heartfelt thanks to the ABEDESIGN team for the impeccable organization, to the judges, and, of course, to every client who believed in our work. Here’s to the next ones!
